Dear Latin America Insider Reader,
This month we go to Belize, one of my favorite little countries. It’s where I first caught the travel bug, exploring its pristine cayes, tropical jungles and awesome Mayan ruins. It’s where I perfected my scuba-diving skills way back when. And it is where my interest in Mayan and shamanic herbal remedies was first piqued. Watch for a future article in Latin America Insider about that topic.
Belize is a land of water, jungle, rolling hills and very few people…one of the most sparsely populated countries in Central America. Maybe that’s why Belizeans are some of the nicest people in the world. No shirt, no shoes, no problem. And no stress.
Also in this month’s issue, Jessica Ramesch has contributed an article on learning a foreign language…how – and why you should. Jessica speaks English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian…so listen to her expert advice. And if you have heart problems, you will want to heed this month’s article bout traveling with coronary artery disease…it’s what you need to know.
But back to Belize…as the holidays are just around the corner, I can’t help but remember the several happy Christmas holidays my friends, family and I have spent in Belize…in fact we were there just last year. Getting away from it all to a warm, tropical retreat – and treating ourselves to time together is how we like to spend our holidays. I hope you will be able to do the same this year.
Wherever you are in the world this holiday season, all of us at International Living and Latin America Insider wish you warmth and happiness.
Thanks for Reading and Happy Holidays,
