On the heels of a record-breaking conference in Quito, Ecuador, InternationalLiving.com expects to set yet another attendance record at its upcoming Panama conference in April.
According to Elaine Finnegan
, conference director for InternationalLiving.com, attendance at the Live and Invest in Panama Seminar to be held April 18-20 just outside Panama City is set to hit 300, beating the attendance record for past Panama conferences by as much as 20 percent.
“Panama has always been a top choice for people from the U.S., Canada, and Europe who want to significantly lower their cost of living without giving up the good life,” said Finnegan. “But as we saw with our recent event in Quito, more people than ever are realizing that they’re not going to be able to afford a quality retirement in the U.S., particularly, thanks to the failing economy and the astronomical health care costs.
“Living in Panama is a real and affordable option,” said Finnegan. “You can get by in Panama on a fraction of what you’d spend elsewhere for a similar lifestyle. So more people than ever are signing up for our Panama conference to find out how they can take advantage of everything the country has to offer.”
Finnegan said that the 2010 Live and Invest in Panama conference will feature more than 50 speakers, exhibitors, and experts who will offer strategies on just about every aspect of moving to and living in Panama, including Panama’s world-famous pensionado program for qualified retirees.
According to Jessica Ramesch
, Panama editor for InternationalLiving.com, Panama’s pensionado program gives qualified retirees up to 50 percent discounts on things like movies, sporting events, doctor visits, airline tickets… even closing costs for home loans.
“Put the pensionado program together with Panama’s low cost of living, tropical climate, and large stock of affordable real estate, and its no wonder so many potential retirees, and even young families, are looking at Panama,” said Ramesch. “And it doesn’t hurt that Panama uses the U.S. dollar as its currency and has a century long history of good relations with the U.S. thanks to the canal.”
The 2010 Live and Invest in Panama Seminar will be the 9th Panama conference of this kind for InternationalLiving.com.
