Hello: I am hoping that someone who is in the film industry in Mexico or who has knowledge of it can help me. My husband and I have just relocated permanently to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle in Mexico (near PV). Our son (30 yrs old) is in the film industry in Vancouver, Canada and would like to re-locate here also. Can you assist at all with any hints of where he might contact people for work in Mexico? He has several years experience on major motion pictures, television series, and a minimal smattering of others such as commercials and fashion shows. He has held positions of PA, a credit as an AD and some experience in lighting (I think). His education was with Vancouver Film School and Capilano College Film Studies program. He has a passion for environmental issues with a start on a degree in environmental sciences. Any help would be appreciated and please forgive me if this posting is not appropriate here.

Having spent my winters in the Lake Chapala area for several years now, during which time I've heard and seen many promises bloom and die on the vine, so I won't hold my breath.

I am an ex-pat with a home in Chapala. I have met Dr. Schwartzblat y Katz. He is very well respected and has done many good things for the community. Having these new jobs in the community will be an asset and an alternative to the mostly service jobs that now exist.

This area offers it all. Imagination and action seem to be coming. May a part be set for the locals, the 300,000 natives that live about the lake.

I'm most impressed with one company venturing out and signing an office lease for 4 years. I think they forgot to tell the writer that monthly cost was under US$50.00.
