IL’s Weekly Wrap-Up Video: How to Retire Early and Retire Rich in 2010

See the video below for Dan Prescher’s weekly wrap-up of InternationalLiving.com postcards for the week ending June 28. This week, Dan is reporting from Quito, Ecuador.

First things first: IL’s only U.S. event of the year—the Live & Invest Overseas Conference—now has full details confirmed: September 16-18 in Las Vegas. This is the one where we put simple strategies to retire early and retire rich right in your hands. That’s why it’s so popular, and why you should sign up now if you want to be there. Get the whole scoop in last week’s postcard on the IL website.

When Janet Grosshandler’s son told her that he was moving to Costa Rica, so she figured she’d do some research on the country…and ended up living there herself. Find out how her first taste of living abroad went in her postcard from last week.

Remember the theme song to the TV Show Green Acres? “Land spreading out so far and wide?” Suzan Haskins says that her first view of Ecuador’s Yunguilla Valley had her belting out the tune… rich, green fertile land where you can plant some corn and cantaloupe, raise a few goats and chickens, breath the fresh mountain air, and get self sufficient. She tells us all about it in her postcard from last week.

Lee Harrison says in his postcard last week that he might have had some preconceptions about Bogota, Colombia, before visiting there earlier this year, but after spending some time there he not only liked it, but found several clean, safe and cheerful neighborhoods that he says are among the best in Latin America. He tells you all about them in his postcard.

Chris Hunters, IL’s money man, asked the question “what’s in your wallet?” in his postcard last week. If it’s pieces of paper, Chris says you’re not holding the right global currency. He’ll tell you exactly what the right currency is and the best way to get it.

You can read these and lots more IL postcards at the IL website, and don’t forget to stop by the Internationalliving.com Facebook page…we’re all waiting for you there with posts from around the world.
