Video from Ojochal: Why You Should Check Costa Rica’s Southern Zone

In the heart of Costa Rica’s southern zone you’ll find the town of Ojochal. Despite being slightly “out of the way”, Ojochal has a “big town” vibe about it. It’s a relatively small seaside town, but it has some excellent hotels and restaurants, and such conveniences as medical offices, a supermarket, bakery, gas station, hardware store, Internet café, beauty salon, taxi services, and construction companies.

The area around Ojochal has the occasional tourist-style boutique, but not on the beach—they’re tucked away into the jungle, mostly beside a babbling stream or two. And you won’t see high-rises either. This truly is a private paradise.

In this video, our Latin America Editorial Director Suzan Haskins, explains why she thinks Ojochal in Costa Rica’s Southern Zone is high on her list of dream retirement destinations.
