Belize: An Opportunity To Buy For $975 a Month

Back in August, I told RETA members how to lock down an interest-free lot in Belize. The monthly payments were just $600. One of these lots remain. And a new phase with lots for monthly payments of $975 has just been released.

Belize is a country of great natural beauty, with reef, rainforest and ruins. With pirate, slave, and conquistador ancestors, the locals are friendly, and quirky. And because Belize is English-speaking, you can throw away the dictionary…and start making friends as soon as you get here. And you will…

Belize is close to the U.S. Flights from many locations in the U.S. to Belize (including Miami, Houston and Charlotte) only take two or three hours.

I first visited the real estate development I’m talking about five years ago, when heavy machinery was cutting roads through the jungle. Today, the first residents have moved into their beachfront casitas…five houses are under construction…and the site for the first condo building is being cleared.

A new beach is taking shape in front of the site for the new condos. This is in addition to the existing beach and dock.

The new restaurant is complete and being used by private groups.

They have invested over $3 million in infrastructure (including underground electric, reverse osmosis water, and waste treatment). More than $1 million has been spent on roads and lot preparation. And $1.5 million has gone into amenities such as parks, beaches, piers and pools.

The architecture here is designed to foster a sense of community, with central plazas and communal areas to attract and keep neighbors together.

Lots near the 5-acre horse enclosure are $39,000. They are 1/8th of an acre and come with financing. One of these lots remain.

If you’re a RETA member, here’s how the numbers play out. You pay $1,000 on contract signature with another $9,000 payment to follow shortly afterward. Your monthly payments are $600 (for 48 months). In fact, this is even better than interest-free finance, as your total payments come in a shade under $39,000.

If you want to build a little home on this site, good quality build costs are $90 per square foot…or up to $125 for high quality finishes. There is no minimum home size. The folks here will build you a 998-square-foot home for $89,820.

That’s $128,820 for your home and lot if you decide to build.

Other lots are available elsewhere in the development—1/10th of an acre.

For RETA members, interest-free finance is also available on six lots. The lots list for $59,000, discounted to $56,800. Here’s how the finance deal works out.

You reserve your lot with $1,000 down. You have 30 days to decide if you want to go ahead. If you do, you pay an additional $9,000. Then you have 48 monthly payments of $975, interest-free.

I recently stood on these lots. Despite their size, if you were here with me then, you would have seen that these lots give a sense of space and tranquility.
