I am a Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. We have vacationed in Puerto Vallarta for 20 years and have recently purchased a condominium at Rivera Cuale. This spring as we were to move into our condo from our rented villa my wife became acutely ill with an exacerbation of her sarcoidosis. She was hospitalized for eight days at AmeriMed, seven in intensive care. Her medical care was superb and she is now fully recovered. Her total bill, less than $13,000, was about 10% of what it would have cost us in the US. The entire bill was covered by our United States health insurance.
