Could an Ecuador beach rental make you fall in love with this unique South American country?
If you like miles of sand and surf, beautiful year-around weather, and one of the lowest costs of living of any country in Latin America, the chances are good that your Ecuador beach rental could turn into a more permanent home!
Ecuador’s Pacific coast is 1,242 miles of sandy beaches, lush mangrove forests, dense jungle and clear waters. Often compared to California’s Pacific coast, the topography can vary dramatically between long stretches of white sand, half-moon bays protected by majestic cliffs and headlands, and steep wooded hills that run right down to the water’s edge.
However, the weather along Ecuador’s coast is much warmer and more tropical than California’s coast, with temperatures that can average 77ºF to 87ºF. The rainy season runs from December to May, but even the dry season simply means less life-giving rain. Ecuador is one of the greenest, most fertile countries in Latin America, and the abundant rainfall is one of the reasons this little country and it’s Pacific coast is such a green paradise.
Ecuador’s coastline is generally divided from north to south into four regions: Esmeraldas, Manabi, Guayas, and El Oro. Each is beautiful and varied, and Ecuador beach rentals are available along the entire length of the coast.
A few examples:
Near the town of Atacames in the northern province of Esmeraldas is a new beachfront three-bedroom, three-bathroom condo with air conditioning, private laundry, fully equipped kitchen, and an amazing view of the ocean starting at $500 per week.
Atacames is known as a party town, but this condo is actually in nearby Tonsupa, which is quieter, but still a short taxi ride from the bars, clubs, and restaurants of Atacames.
Manta is a city of more than 200,000 people in the central coastal province of Manabi. It has a large port, lots of services, and a growing expat population, and the nearby beaches are superb.
South of Manta is the little town of Montanita.
The surf offshore is known for outstanding waves that have made Montanita a hotspot for surfers over the years, but the town has grown from its tiny fishing village roots to be a bustling little tourism center with great restaurants, cafés, and…of course…incredible beaches.
Just outside Montanita is a recently-renovated two-bedroom, three-bath house right on the beach with a fully equipped kitchen and a studio apartment with double bed and kitchenette that can be rented separately or used as a third bedroom. Rent starts at $600 per month. See here for more information.
These are just a few of the Ecuador beach rentals available along the 2,000 kilometer stretch of Ecuador’s incredible Pacific coast.
