The real estate boom in Nicaragua is similar to what took place in Costa Rica in the 1980s, when people took the opportunity to own a property in paradise for both pleasure and profit.
In Costa Rica, the course of events was much like what is happening today in Nicaragua: First, political stability was achieved with an eye on improving the economy and infrastructure. Then its wealth of spectacular beaches attracted tourists in record numbers...followed by retirees and real estate developers.
This process is exactly what is underway right now in Nicaragua, and as the nation develops, you can find excellent real estate bargains.

Along the southern Pacific coast of Nicaragua are rocky outcrops and pounding surf. Although frequently compared to the coast of Southern California, this doesn’t do Nicaragua’s Pacific coast justice in my mind. The wave breaks along this stretch of the Pacific attract surfers from all over the world…dramatic rock formations and ridges present unparalleled ocean vistas…and the brilliant scarlet and orange sunsets are truly jaw-dropping.
