Year-round balmy temperatures, exceptional surf, and a beachfront property boom fed by years of peace in El Salvador

A surfers paradise with some of the world's best waves and 190 miles of sandy beaches, warm weather, and water temperatures in the 80s throughout the year, many will find El Salvador's beachfront property market a very attractive proposition.
The smallest country in Central America, El Salvador is smaller than the state of Massachusetts. Bordered by Guatemala and Honduras, its Pacific coastline-that actually runs east-west-forms El Salvador's southern border. The capital is San Salvador, home to about one quarter of El Salvador's 6.7 million people, 90% of whom are Mestizo-people of mixed European and indigenous descent.
On the west end of the coast, dramatic cliff-lines along the sea, provide breathtaking ocean views. The country's light- (not quite white) sand beaches are also found in the west. As you move toward the central part of the coast, the terrain levels out and the sand is mostly black or grey, which holds true as you continue east.
