Read this letter for all the details …

Dear International Living Reader,

Clear, warm, turquoise waters slosh rhythmically onto the soft white beaches in Panama’s San Blas Islands. Hammocks span the distance between tall palms. And it’s splendidly quiet, save for the steady sound of the surf, the squawk of pelicans overhead, and the rustle of coconut palms.

Though less than an hour by air from Panama City to these islands, you’ll feel a world apart when you join us for an overnight excursion there this December. The first 18 people who sign on will come at no charge. I’ll give you the full run-down in a minute. But let me first tell you a little more about why I’m so excited about this extraordinary place …

The Kuna Indians, which inhabit a handful of the 357 islands, live in primitive, but tidy villages of cane huts with palm-thatched roofs.

The men either fish or farm. You’ll see them in the early mornings, paddling their dugout canoes out in search of the crab, lobster, octopus, and fish that they sell to merchants in Panama City.

The farmers grow vegetables, fruit, and coffee … but primarily coconuts. The women are known for their fine handicraft work on the embroidered cloth molas they make – colorful abstract and geometric patterns, some with representations of birds and fish. They’re distinctly Kuna, and while the women often wear them on their tops, back home here they make for beautiful wall hangings and pillow covers.

On our trip, we’ll have a chance to spend some time in a Kuna village. These people are happy to share their culture and traditions with us. I know when I was there a few weeks back, I came away feeling privileged to have been welcomed into their community and to have had a chance to see a culture and way of life that is so rare these days.

I’d like to share that experience with you as well.

We’ll stay on a small island in a group of tiny, aqua green cabins built on stilts out over the water. A sturdy wooden walkway connects them to the shore and to one another. You won’t find any luxuries there. (There’s no hot water, and the electricity works only a few hours a day.) But it’s clean and simple and welcoming.

I think you’ll find, as I did, that there’s something quite satisfying in taking a break from the frenetic pace and “convenience” of our usual lifestyle. For me, it was pure paradise.

You’ll have time to relax in your hammock … bury your feet in the warm sand and take a walk along a deserted beach. Dinner won’t be fancy. But it is guaranteed to be fresh – lifted from the turquoise waters of the Caribbean moments before it’s dished onto your plate.

And your dinner companions? Kindred spirits who, like you, love to travel, tell stories, and enjoy authentic experiences in a foreign place.

The best part is … I’d like to pay for you to come along (if you’re one of the first 18 people, that is).

Let me explain …

If you like to travel, this is the perfect excuse to discover how fun and easy it can be to turn that passion for discovery – the same inclination that makes you want to come with me to meet the Kunas – into paychecks.

You see, we’ll be gathering in Panama not simply for this overnight trip to the San Blas Islands … but also to show you how you can capitalize on your love of travel and use it to fund a lifetime of exploration and discovery …

In fact, we’ll show you how you can make $100,000 or more a year as you explore the world like a VIP. And we’ll do it over three power-packed, eye-opening, and enjoyable days this December in Panama City, Panama at our extremely popular How to Fund Your Travels Workshop.

You Can Travel to Exotic Destinations, Enjoy VIP Treatment
All Over The Planet, Have The Time of Your Life …
and Earn Up to $100,000 or More a Year While You’re Doing It!

I can’t imagine a better way to end 2008 on a high note. This is a way for you to ensure that you’re set to start the New Year not just energized to travel… but with all the secrets you need to ready to make those travels lucrative.

Spend a power-packed long-weekend with the six savvy, world-wise experts I’ve invited to show you everything they know… and you’ll learn the keys to mastering four fun travel tools you can use to escape the 9-5 drudgery of the work-a-day world…

These experts will hand you the key to a life where you can live on permanent vacation … travel like a VIP … receive offers of hospitality at top-notch resorts around the world … get behind-the-curtain passes to everything from art openings to museum exhibits and concerts … meet new people … escape to romantic getaways … experience fascinating cultures … and take home as much as six figures a year … plus even take your travels as tax-deductions …

You may not realize it, but you’re already super-close to living the PROFITABLE traveler’s life. It’s simply a matter of learning a few tricks.

It’s All About Turning What You’re Already Doing
For Pleasure into Income-Earning Skills  …

Here’s what I mean  …

If you’ve ever arrived home from a day-trip or vacation and called a friend to tell her about your experience or scribbled an email account of what happened  … if you’ve taken snap shots of the monuments and places you’ve visited or the people you’ve met  … or brought home souvenirs  … or even organized a trip for you and your friends  …

Then you’re already half way there.

It’s just a matter of turning what you’re already doing for pleasure into income-earning skills  …

And that means taking not just ho-hum snapshots  … but the kinds of pictures that sell best.

It means putting your notes and recommendations about the restaurants where you eat and the hotels where you stay into a format magazines and guidebooks can use.

It means not just shopping with family and friends in mind  … but learning which souvenirs will sell best when you’re back home.

It means not just planning a trip for yourself, but parlaying that organizing you’re already doing anyway into a paycheck that can more than cover the cost of your travels  …

You get the idea. It’s not hard to do. But it would certainly take you a few years to figure it out on your own.

In Panama City this December, we’ll get you ramped up for success in three power-packed days. So you can be on the path to lucrative travel right when the New Year starts.

Why Panama?

In years past, we’ve held this event in the States, but it makes more sense to take it overseas where you can put into practice – right there on the spot – the secrets you’ll be learning.

We picked Panama for a whole host of reasons, among them …

In fact, we’ll be based for this workshop just outside the city – an easy cab ride away from downtown – at a beautiful spa and resort hotel.

And if you’re among the first 18 people to accept this special invitation to join us at our How to Fund Your Travels Workshop, you’ll get a FREE overnight getaway to the San Blas Islands – a delightful excursion at our expense.

This is my gift to you for signing up early for AWAI’s 2008 How to Fund Your Travels Workshop, December 5-7, 2008 in Panama City, Panama.

We Launched This Annual Event in 2006 to Rave Reviews
and This Year’s is Going To Be Even Better …

I’ve invited six savvy travelers – each a specialist in at least one get-paid-to-travel tool – to meet in Panama City in December. And I’ve asked each of them to join us on the condition that they’ll come ready to share with you not just general advice … but the specific secrets you’ll need to quickly and easily turn your interest in travel into paychecks.

They’ve all agreed. And they’ll be on hand to deliver to you all their secrets for building wealth through four travel tools:

In the past, we’ve included only three of the four (photography, travel writing, and import/export). But this year – because there’s a definite movement for you to capitalize on – we’re adding the module on creating your own tours.

We’ll teach you how to find and foster a viable niche and turn it into travel others will pay you for. It works like this:

Pick a hobby – sports, outdoor activities, reading, history, handi-crafts, painting, you name it – and learn how to design a tour around it  … plus (critically) how to advertise it to others who share your interest.

You’ve seen programs like these: Walking tours of Paris following the drama in Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code  … archeological digs in Ireland uncovering ancient ruins  … gourmet cooking tours and culinary vacations in France, Italy, and Spain.

What you may not realize, though, is that if you organize such a trip, taking advantage of group discounts, you can actually travel for free  … and pocket a profit  … plus enjoy the company of like-minded people.

It makes perfect sense. After all, you already tell people about your travel experiences  … take snap shots  … and search for the best (and often times, the best-priced!) souvenirs to bring back home with you  … and who hasn’t organized an outing for friends!

… which is what makes this opportunity so exciting!

By merging these four travel tools – and our resources at AWAI – we are giving you a GROUNDBREAKING opportunity to learn how to travel anywhere, anytime, and make a six-figure income.

Making a Six-Figure Income Traveling The Globe is Very Conservative,
Compared to What Some Travelers Are Doing …

Just listen to this: “My brother (a landscaper) wanted to join forces and open a business,” says Thompson Lange from Carmel, California. “He thought that my history of hitting the road with a backpack and no itinerary could be a useful asset.” It was.

After a major buying spree in China, they wanted to showcase their finds. So they opened a home environments store on California’s Monterey Peninsula. After their first year’s trading, they’d hit the big time. Moe Ammar, president of Pacific Grove’s Chamber of Commerce, had this to say in the Monterey County Herald: ‘Within one year of operation they were among the Top 40 revenue producers in the city. Being in the Top 40 means generating at least $1.1 million in sales.’

A million dollars! And that’s just one tool! So, imagine the potential that exists for merging all three tools. That’s why I want to invite you to Panama City, Panama where you’ll master our new, four-pronged travel strategy … so you can prove to your fellow travelers that the travel experience is not only enjoyable … but can be lucrative, too!

Expect Fast and Profitable Results

Apply what we show you – and you can begin making money with these four tools within weeks, possibly even days.

I’m not exaggerating. Take, for example, Sue Wright. She attended one of our photography workshops in Paris. Within eight days of her return home, she’d sold two of her pictures as fine art hangings. The next week her local paper used several more of her photographs to illustrate an article they were running about Paris. Then she took a quick jaunt to Las Vegas with her camera in hand. And that same newspaper editor who took her Paris photos gave her a two-page spread featuring five of the photos she took in Vegas.

So far she has earned over $1,500 for her photos of that single trip.

Then there’s Maryanne, another of our Paris workshop attendees. Within two weeks of her return home, she had a photograph displayed in a fine art gallery.

And Katherine Pendill... Katherine has already sold one of her Paris pictures as well as two more from her trips to Italy and New England. So far she’s earned $450 for her photographs. That’s not bad for someone that brings her camera along on her “work” trips.

These stories are just examples from ONE workshop and ONE tool. By merging all four tools, our goal is to make you MORE money, faster, as you travel the world like a VIP.

Become a Master of The “Four-Pronged Approach” to
Funding And Profiting From a LIFETIME of TRAVEL

Join us in Panama, a wonderfully dynamic location for this event, and you’ll meet the savvy travelers who will show you exactly how this “Four-Pronged” strategy for travel profits works.

This will not be one of those long, drawn out seminars that leaves you bored to tears. Not by a long shot. We’re all about hands-on, practical material and real-world advice. You’ll find all the presentations to be on-target, useful … and entertaining, too. Delivering exactly what you need to put these travel tools to use immediately.

Plus, you can’t beat the venue.

We’ll call the fabulous Intercontinental Playa Bonita Hotel & Spa home for the workshop. It’s just west of Panama City proper and sits on two kilometers of private, palm-lined beach. You’ll be surrounded by lavish gardens (Panama is home to more than 9,000 species of plants, and you’ll believe it when you see these grounds!).

Bring your swim suit as there are infinity pools and cascades of water. We’ll be busy with the workshop while we’re there, of course. But if you’re interested, you can find a lunch break or an evening hour to indulge in a spa treatment … an outdoor massage … a seaweed wrap … a facial …

Or, if you’re looking for something more active, you can take a boat out or go for a swim in the ocean.

As I said earlier, we’ll be close enough to town to go in for dinner if you like. Or you can certainly eat at the resort itself, which has three restaurants.

Plus, we’ve arranged a discounted room rate at the Intercontinental Playa Bonita Resort & Spa for you – more than $200 below the regular price. (Though to guarantee yourself a room at the special rate, you must book by October, 29 2008.)

So you can enjoy some pleasant pampering and an elegant stay (at a great discounted price) while you learning the nuts and bolts you need to turn 2009 into the start of a LIFETIME of lucrative travel.

I want to be overwhelmed with emails telling me about your successes. I want to hear about the money you’re making, the perks you’re enjoying, the places you’ve traveled to …

Maybe you’ll find yourself in Wandi Stewart’s shoes …

Regular Folks Just Like You Are Already Turning
Their Passion for Travel into Paychecks …

Wandi traveled to Ecuador and visited Otavalo and Cotacacci markets, where she met local artisans and bought several pieces of artwork, a tapestry, and some clothing. She brought these gifts home to Atlanta, to give away to her friends and family.

"People were just amazed at the quality and craftsmanship of the things she had brought back. So she asked her friends, "Would you actually pay for these things?" They not only gave her a resounding "yes," but placed orders for her next trip.

A few weeks later, Wandi returned to Ecuador, met several local artists whose work she liked, and shipped back about 800 pounds of tapestries, blankets, musical instruments, masks, clothing, paintings, and other local crafts.

When she got back to the States, she sold everything she had bought. And she was able to mark up the paintings as much as 800%. Hammocks sold for 600% more than she had paid.

" … it’s a lot of fun," says Wandi. "I spend my days in markets, museums, and art galleries, and I get to meet people I’d never have the chance to meet otherwise. On my last trip to Ecuador, for example, I felt like I was on safari, trying to track down a mask artist who lived high in the mountains outside Otavalo. There were no phone lines or street signs. Finally I stumbled upon the village … and was able to strike a deal."

Wandi sells her Ecuadorian discoveries at crafts shows and festivals and in small boutiques in Atlanta, Georgia. "It’s great," she says. "It allows me to travel as often as I want to Ecuador … and I’m covering all my travel costs."

Meet the Embera Indians, Too…

The Embera Indians are worlds apart from the Kuna Indians.

They migrated to Panama years ago from Ecuador to find work on the Panama Canal.  Like most Ecuadorians, this tribe is mild-mannered and gentle. They hunt for their food and plant crops. And recently they started offering tours through their village to help pay for supplies they purchase.

When you join us in Panama you might like to consider signing up for this add-on excursion to meet the Embera Indians. It will be a chance to experience another culture and you’ll also be helping to support this village so they can continue to maintain their traditional way of life.

To meet the Embera Indians, we’ll drive 45 minutes outside Panama City to the edge of the water. From this drop-off point, the Indians will meet us and bring us by motorized canoe to their village, where they will prepare us lunch while they explain their customs and traditions.

They have their own medicinal practices (no doctors or dentists, just healers) and they use natural berries and fruits to paint their bodies for tribal dances (they’ll happily share with us how it’s done).

They also have incredibly intricate handicrafts for sale. If you’re looking for an import/export opportunity and silver jewelry or intricate wood carvings are of interest to you… don’t miss this trip.

This add-on excursion is an experience that will feed your creativity, giving you lots of writing ideas, photo opportunities and even import/export plus niche tour ideas, too.

The cost of this add-on excursion is just $97. That includes your transport as well as lunch offered by the Embera Indians.

If you’re joining us in Panama in December, this is a trip you won’t want to miss.

Or perhaps, like Sue Wright, you’ll find yourself strolling through the streets of Paris, France, your camera slung around your neck. You’ll let your instinct lead you down cobbled alleys and along the tree-lined shores of the Seine.

You’ll peek into shops, stop for coffee at a corner café, absorb the exuberating sounds and smells and sights of this incredible city … capturing its mood on film. And then, when you return home, you’ll sell the photos you snapped … building your portfolio, your reputation as a photographer … and landing some fast cash, too.

Or maybe you’ll defray your travel costs (and write-off most of your travel expenses) by writing about what you discover. That’s what Wendy VanHatten has done. In fact, she’s done one better and landed a series of complimentary perks, too …

In the course of seven months, she’s been to North Carolina; San Felipe, Mexico; Germany; France; Luxembourg; Chicago; San Diego (twice); and Scottsdale, Arizona.

And she’s been putting her travels to good use. Her writing has been featured in Marco Polo, International Living, The Traveler, SiouxLand Lifestyle, 21st Century Adventures, Trips & Journeys, Inside Out, Go Nomad, Travelwise, Traveler’s Tales, and Road & Travel.

And she isn’t stopping there. Currently, Wendy’s working on articles for Country Discoveries, enRoute, Spirit Magazine, Drive Magazine, and Wave Magazine.

All of these articles are inspired by her frequent travels. Traveling for Wendy has been getting easier, too. As a published travel writer she’s been given some special attention at her destinations.

In North Carolina, she received complimentary passes to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. In San Diego the Wild Animal Park gave her complimentary passes, too. In Scottsdale, the 4 Peaks Mine gave her an interview and special access to information about the mine. And in San Felipe, her hotel gave her one free night.

Plus …

Also... let me tell you more about the speakers you’ll hear from and work with in December …

Meet the Savvy Travelers Who’ll Show You How to
Kick Off 2009 Traveling The World Like a VIP

Jennifer Stevens is an accomplished and proven travel writer (and author of AWAI’s Ultimate Travel Writer’s Program). Jen is the former editor of International Living, and she spent a decade gallivanting around Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe, writing about the best locales for overseas travel, retirement, and investment.

Though freelance these days, she remains a contributing editor at International Living and writes frequently for other publications as well.

She says, “As a freelance travel writer, I’m serious about making my writing pay. It’s not unusual for me to sell a story to a magazine and earn (with the photos my husband takes) as much as $1,500 or more for a project. That’s a pretty nice return when you consider that I rarely incur much (if any) expense on the trip itself. Get to discover a new place on somebody else’s dime) and then get paid to write a few paragraphs about it.”

Adept at landing glamorous assignments – she’ll tell you how she does it … and hand over the keys to getting unbelievable perks.

Rich Wagner, a master of the second tool, photography … began his photographic career in college as a freelance photographer for Pittsburgh newspapers. After graduation, photography remained a hobby during his 20-year career in retail, and in 1984, Rich opened a custom framing and fine art gallery. His current shop recently had the honor of being designated as one of “America’s Top 100” custom framers by Décor magazine.

His images hang in public corporations and private foundations from San Diego to Boston and in homes from the Americas to the Far East. Everything from the rich colors and broad landscapes of the southwest, to street studies in the Little Havana section of Miami have been captured by his lens. Rich is your guide into shooting digitally, including capturing the beauty that exists right in your hometown so you can fund travels across the globe.

Reece Guth, a master of the third tool, import-export … was offered a part-time job to photograph the progress of a multi-faceted project on the Nicaraguan Pacific coast. When his liaison in Nicaragua found out he had an interest in ceramics (he used to be a professional potter!) she immediately insisted on driving him two hours to a quiet little village, nestled in the hills between two sleeping volcanoes, to a spot that literally wasn’t on the map.

Here, he discovered the natives of San Juan de Oriente, who made beautiful pottery, a ceramic tradition that dated back to 1,000 BC. Fascinated, he brought some of the pottery back overseas with him as a souvenir to display in his home. But people loved the pottery so much, that a business was born. Now Reece runs a $100,000 a-year enterprise with plenty of potential for growth and travels to Nicaragua anytime he wants (and always as a business expense, so it’s a write-off on his taxes!).

What’s more, when he’s in Nicaragua, the potters and their families often invite him into their homes to talk about bringing their art to a wider audience. He says, “I am proud to present this work as a bridge, not only between cultures, but also in time.” Reece will pass on the lessons he’s learned as an import-exporter – to ensure your journey finding amazing products overseas and selling them for profit is a successful one.

Cynthia Morris has combined her passion for travel with her “once-useless” French degree into a lucrative income stream. She designs creativity tours in France. They were an immediate success … which allows Cynthia to travel to France every year and share her passion with other creative travelers.

Cynthia will be on hand to tell you how you can develop and lead tours that allow you to share your knowledge and get paid for it.

If you love research, are well-organized, and enjoy sharing your travel passion with others, then designing and leading tours is a great way to get free trips to places you want to go … and share the destinations that fascinate you with like-minded people.

If you love being the know-it-all with the insider information on where to stay, which restaurants are the best, and where the locals hang outs are … you CAN get paid for your savvy. And Cynthia will show you how.

If We Can Do It, So Can You! Here’s Why:

You don’t need a fancy writing degree to write articles that will sell and get published in prestigious magazines or newspapers. You don’t even need fancy photography equipment (a simple 35mm camera or simple point-and-shoot digital will do just fine). If you love hunting around for good bargains and bringing home the coolest souvenirs, or organizing a get-together … you’ve got it made. You don’t need a ton of money to get started either.

All you really need to succeed and prosper in this industry is a passion for travel, a good eye for detail, and a few tricks of the trade from the savvy travelers I’ve rounded up to help you.

I’m always getting “I did it!” emails from past attendees writing in from Thailand, Costa Rica, Mexico, Argentina, Hawaii, New York, San Francisco, Malta, South Africa, and beyond.

But I shouldn’t be surprised. Our instructors are travelers like you. And at our workshops, they’re not giving attendees theory. They’re giving them the very same techniques and strategies they themselves use to fund – and profit from – their vacations.

That’s exactly what you can expect in Panama. And, because we want to make this program as accessible as possible, I am happy to invite you down for only $1,697 – that’s typically what you’d pay to learn about each of these skills separately. But for this program, you get them all together.

What’s more …

If You Act Now, You Can Save
$100 Off the Price with Our Early Bird Savings …

Right now, you can save two ways.

In fact, there’s a third way to save in addition.

The Life Satisfaction that Comes With
Overseas Adventure … and International Income

There’s another benefit of learning to fund a life of travel. And it has to do with spending your days in a way you like … a way that really “feeds your spirit.” You can’t exaggerate the satisfaction that comes with getting paid to do what you like.

As Michael Masterson, founder of the daily coaching service, Early to Rise, puts it, “On a personal level, being part of an international business means a richer, more sophisticated working life. You become familiar with the business and social habits of other cultures, develop get-by skills in several languages, and enjoy the pleasures of eating and drinking real foreign food.

“In the 1980s, my businesses were almost exclusively domestic. They gave me a very good U.S.A.-based lifestyle, but I didn’t feel very cosmopolitan. When it came time to visit Europe or Latin America on a family vacation, I took the same tours every other American was taking ... and had pretty much the same reactions everyone else was having.

“Now I feel more... well, comfortable in foreign places. I still enjoy my life in this country, but it’s immensely more satisfying because it is linked up with this ongoing overseas adventure.”

The overseas adventure … the satisfaction … the income …

This is what you can look forward to – and turn into a reality – starting this December. And you can do it at no risk to you.

You already take snap shots, tell people about your experiences, and buy souvenirs on vacation. You already organize family outings and get-togethers with friends. Now’s your chance to turn those “habits” into money-making skills you can use to make a six-figure income while you travel … and even cash in on all sorts of perks and VIP treatment.

If you’re ready to travel the world, be your own boss, and make great money – I urge you to act now. Our workshops are always sellout affairs. And, since we’ll be focusing on ways you can make your travel experience a LUCRATIVE one, I expect an even greater response for this extra special event.

So please claim your seat now for our Third Annual How to Fund Your Travels Workshop in Panama City, Panama this December 5-7, 2008 and save today with our early bird savings …

PLUS, remember, if you sign up as one of the first 18 people, we’ll take you with us on an overnight excursion to the San Blas Islands for FREE.

And that’s not all. When you sign up now, we’ll also throw in a bonus recording by Barbara Winter – author of the best-selling Making a Living Without a Job and Jumpstart Your Entrepreneurial Spirit.

I hope to see you in Panama this winter!
