Panama: Don’t Miss It in 2007

Date: 01/10/2007

Part of me can't believe 2006 is already over, and part of me is more excited than ever to see what the new year will bring. How many of you found yourselves waving adios to 2006 and wishing you'd done more, accomplished more, seen more? Honestly, where did the year go? Even as choruses of Auld Lang Syne broke out around me, I wanted to say "Hey, I was just getting started."

Well, I have learned not to be so hard on myself…and you should, too. As a Panama First Alert reader, you've already taken important steps toward meeting your goals, be they retirement, relocation or business-related. Getting informed is half the battle and you're probably well ahead of your friends and acquaintances in realizing your goals.

So if, for 2007, you plan to go all the way and make your personal dreams come true, there are plenty of great opportunities to choose from-pick one and you'll be stunned at just how easily the minor details get worked out (with a little help from us, of course).

To help you plan your visit, I'm going to tell you a bit about 2007 International Living events scheduled for Panama. Start making arrangements now and see for yourself how my favorite country can meet your needs.

To kick off 2007 in style, International Living will host a Live & Prosper in Panama Seminar January 30 - February 1, 2007. As always, the Events staff has been working to enhance the seminar. So don't be surprised to encounter even more quality speakers and the most up-to-date and relevant topics. Of course, there are certain elements we won't change, due to popular demand…so never fear, you will still hear from expats who have actually moved to Panama, and have a grand time (and make priceless contacts) during well-deserved break and cocktail hours.

Can't make it this month? No worries, we have two more Live & Prosper in Panama Seminars May 10-12, and August 2-4. But don't wait to register-the early bird always gets the best deal with IL (and usually with the airlines and hotels, too).

The truth is, these seminars are very popular…the last Live & Prosper in Panama seminars sold out-three times in a row. With all that's going on in Panama this year, there has been an amazing increase in interest-and 2007 promises to be nothing short of overwhelming.

Why attend a Live & Prosper in Panama Seminar? Well, the seminar is specifically for those who have already decided (or are close to deciding) on Panama for their next destination. Whether you are thinking of retiring, getting out of the rat race, starting a new business or buying your dream property, this is the conference for you.

If, however, you are still researching and narrowing down your list of options, you may want to consider IL's most ambitious event…The Ultimate Event will be held in Panama October 24-27, 2007. This new, ground-breaking event was held for the first time ever last October 2006. This event focuses on all the hot spots…all of them (including Latin America, Europe, Asia and more).

The Ultimate Event encompasses every topic imaginable-including land titling issues, international health insurance, mortgage availability, local and offshore banks, financing options, investment opportunities, great new real estate deals, rental management, legal considerations, tax overviews, immigration procedures, IRAs, communications and other infrastructure, cost of living, and so much more. Save the date on your calendar and e-mail Events@InternationalLiving.com if you'd like to register early to ensure your spot.

Remember, if you are an International Living or Panama Insider subscriber (or a Lifetime Society or Roundtable member) you are eligible for discounts on these events.

I hope to see you in Panama in 2007.

Best Regards,

Brandon Clogston

P.S. Remember, our first Panama event of the year is right around the corner…find out more about it here. And why not give your travel agent a call and see if you can get a last-minute low fare? Or check out Panama's COPA Airlines at its English-language website to compare flights.
