The Boom is On: ABC's Nightline shines the spotlight on Panama

Panama City

If you saw the Nightline television program on Monday, November 13, you know that the ABC News team reported on the phenomenal number of Americans who are choosing to relocate to Panama. (If you didn't see the program you can read an accompanying article on the ABC News website.)

Reporter Jeffrey Kofman and his ABC crew spent some time at an International Living conference here in Panama. They interviewed some of our staff and attendees, including Joe Urby and his wife, Stacey Waldren. Joe and Stacey plan to move here as soon as their youngest son starts college. They were at the International Living conference to learn about the real nitty gritty of living here. And to meet the people here - the local experts - who will help them make the move as seamless and worry-free as possible.

Joe and Stacey - and now hundreds of thousands of ABC News viewers - know that Panama may be the best place in the world to look right now for both lifestyle and real estate bargains. The cost of living is low…so you can live a much more luxurious life than you can practically anywhere else in the world. And you won't have to give up a thing. This is no Third-World banana republic - the infrastructure here rivals that of the U.S., Canada, Europe….or any country in the industrialized, modern world.

But you already know all this. What you may not know is that because of the ABC News story…and because of similar reports in this month's Continental Airlines in-flight magazine…and USA Today…and the Boston Globe…and a slew of other publications….the word about Panama is getting out. Our web guru tells me that he has seen a nearly 700% increase in people searching for International Living on the Internet this week. Our office here in Panama has been busier than ever with e-mails, phone calls, and walk-in traffic.

I'm not complaining. We're delighted to help. As ABC News said, we're "in the business of helping people make their dreams come true." But, as you might imagine, all this publicity means that Panama - and International Living - are no longer under the radar.

So I want to be sure that you know about our upcoming Live and Prosper in Panama seminar. I think it will sell out quickly and I want you to be able to get first crack at registration. We have not announced this to the general public yet…

Find out what others are just starting to learn:
Join us in Panama January 30-February 1

We'll convene at the Miramar InterContinental Hotel - a luxurious setting overlooking the Bay of Panama. You'll see ships queuing up to pass through the Canal, the Eighth Wonder of the World. And you'll meet the excellent resources International Living has culled over the years - professionals with a wealth of experience in Panama's laws and customs. They'll tell you what you need to know about residency and citizenship in Panama, real estate, business opportunities, they will answer your tax questions. There's no reason for you to figure this out all by yourself - we've done all the legwork for you.

I could go on and on about how much fun you will have and how much you will learn at our Live and Prosper in Panama Seminar, and about how valuable this program is - as you can imagine, this is a well-oiled machine by now. Instead, I invite you to read more about it.

One final comment, though: if Panama is on your short list, don't wait too long. I've said it before, but now, thanks to the U.S. mainstream media, the entire world is waking up to all that Panama has to offer. My guess is that the tipping point isn't too far off. If you want to get in early, get here soon…very soon.

Best Regards,

Brandon Clogston

P.S. When you make your travel plans to attend the Live and Prosper in Panama Seminar, be sure to plan to stay a few days afterwards in order to take part in our optional real estate tours. We'll tour the city, beach areas and the highland community of Boquete. These excursions are offered at cost…but bear in mind that these are not leisurely excursions…your days will be full to the brim with property viewing.
Find out more here or click here to register to the seminar right away.
