Your Trip to Mexico May Cost Less Than You Expect…But Act Soon

Date: 11/21/2006

Act soon to save on airfares from the U.S. to Mexico. American Airlines has just cut fares to its most popular destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean on sale.

Mexico Insider will streamline your move to Mexico. Find out about the best expat and lesser-known locations in Mexico where the cost of living is low and the quality of life is high. This information is not available anywhere else.

Find out more here.
Here's the caveat: To take advantage of these discounted fares, you need to begin your travel between January 10 and February 27, 2007, and complete your travel by March 1.

Tickets can be purchased through December 6 only, and are bound to sell out quickly. So if you plan to visit Mexico in the early part of 2007, you may want to buy your plane ticket now. As always, certain restrictions and blackout dates apply.

A two-day minimum stay is required to qualify (maximum stay is 30 days) and no taxes or fees are included in the following example round-trip fares, which are available though the American Airlines website (www.aa.com):

Los Angeles to San Jose del Cab $208
Chicago to Acapulc $377
Dallas/Fort Worth to Puerto Vallarta: $400

If you are looking for an airfare/hotel package, American Airlines Vacations may have what you are looking for. Visit http://www.aavacations.com for more information.

Travel Tip for Those Coming to San Miguel de Allende:
By all means, plan a trip to visit me in San Miguel. To get here you can either fly into Léon (airport code BJX), Querétaro (airport code QRO), or Mexico City (airport code MEX). It is a 90-minute drive from the airport in Léon (BJX) to San Miguel. It is an hour drive from the airport in Querétaro (QRO) to San Miguel. Airport transfers are about $30 per person each way and you can make arrangements online at www.viajesvertiz.com. If you'd like a private driver, contact bilingual tour guide Daniel Hernandez at danielhr1@yahoo.com.
You may decide to fly into Mexico City (MEX), as flights are sometimes less expensive. From the bus terminal located in the airport (upstairs past the food court) you can catch the Primero Plus bus to Querétaro (three hours) for about $25 and then take a bus or taxi to San Miguel ($30 for taxi fare). (You will need to pay for these in pesos so be sure to exchange money, which you can do at several places in the Mexico City airport or through an ATM withdrawal in the airport). Buses are safe and very comfortable with fully reclining seats, bathrooms, and movies. You will be given a snack when you board!

I hope to see you in Mexico soon.

Best Regards,
