If you could wake up tomorrow any place on earth, where would you choose?
Could you see yourself in Eze, a picturesque medieval village high above the Mediterranean along the French Riviera? By the white sands and crystal-clear waters of Playa Conchal in Costa Rica? Or maybe a cabin in the Ecuadorian highlands surrounded by rolling green hills and lush vegetation would be more to your taste.
It’s easier than you think…with the right portable income.
Take Jed Vaughn, for example. He set up shop in Mazatlan, a stunning Mexican resort town along the Pacific coast. Jason Gaspero works from the tropical beaches of Thailand. Christie Goldfeder hasn’t chosen a permanent overseas residence—yet. But for now, she and her husband are exploring many options. They just spent a month visiting Mayan ruins, snorkeling, and lazing on the beach in Belize. Next on their itinerary is Panama…
All these folks come from different backgrounds. But regardless of their previous careers and education, here’s what they have in common now…
They’re all copywriters.
Some people find this surprising. For one, many have never heard the term “copywriter” before. A copywriter is simply someone who writes persuasively for a living. They use their writing to get readers to do anything from buying a product, to downloading an e-book, to donating to charity.
Believe it or not, this can be a lucrative career. In fact, most copywriters earn far more than the average novelist or screenwriter. And copywriting is way easier to break into. The demand for copy is through the roof, and it continues to grow.
That’s because every company under the sun needs copy. They need emails, social media and blog posts, sales pages…the list goes on and on.
And each project comes with a nice fee. A simple blog post might be worth $250. But a sales page could fetch 10 times that amount. And that’s just for starters.
Many go on to earn six-figure incomes—and all you need is a computer and an internet connection. And because they work online, copywriters can live where they please and settle in whatever peaceful or exotic corner of the globe they’ve been dreaming of.
Your clients won’t care where you work. They won’t even care what hours you keep. Copywriters aren’t tied to a 9-to-5 schedule. Many write when they’re most creative, and enjoy the rest of their day.
So if you’re unhappy where you are and dreaming of moving to an overseas destination, then consider copywriting. Many people just like you have proven, over and over, this lifestyle works.
