As the master of ceremonies for many of the International Living conferences and seminars throughout the year, I get to see firsthand what happens when people are introduced to the idea of living a happier, healthier, more affordable life abroad.
That’s exactly what most International Living events are designed to do…introduce the concept of living overseas and demonstrate just how possible this really is to do.
A couple of years ago, however, we came up with an idea…what about doing an event for people who already know they want to give moving abroad a try? Maybe you’re one of them… you’ve pretty much made a decision to stake your claim on a better life overseas and you just need someone to show you exactly where to go and how to make it happen.
Maybe you’ve decided you’re finally ready for that overseas adventure… Perhaps you’ve found yourself priced out of the kind of retirement you thought you could have at home and you want to live where your money goes much further…or you’ve always been intrigued by another culture or language and want to immerse yourself in it and just give it a try.
Or maybe you’ve just always wanted to live at the beach or in the mountains, and you’ve decided to get it done.
No matter what the reason, if you already know you want to give the International Living lifestyle a try, you don’t need to be shown that it’s possible…you just need to know where to go and how to get there…
So we came up with the idea of doing a conference specifically for people like you who are intrigued by the idea of going overseas, but need a plan of action for doing it. It would be kind of a bootcamp…a basic training course for turning an interested, motivated individual into an actual, globe-trotting expat.
This Bootcamp will be all about guiding you through the process of picking the right place to move to—comparing, contrasting, and weighing your best options—and then getting yourself there in the most practical and efficient manner.
It will guide you through the decision-making process regarding all the variables you’ll encounter in weather, cultures, visa and healthcare considerations, renting and real estate, banking and finance, choosing between part-time and full-time living, etc.
And at the end of the conference, you’ll have in your hands a solid, step-by-step guide for actualizing your personalized plan. You’ll know exactly where you should be focusing your energy—and not just countries you should be thinking about, but actual, specific communities. You’ll have narrowed down your options and homed in on the places that will make the most sense for you given your preferences, your finances, your interests, and your dreams.
Since the idea for this Bootcamp first came up, I’ve been watching it take shape, and I can tell you that the finished product is impressive. I say this not just because of the amount of information the conference will deliver, but because of the way that information will be organized and presented.
This new International Living conference will focus specifically on bringing together all the aspects of moving and living abroad into a concrete, practical, personalized action plan for each and every attendee.
To be honest, if all you want to do is sit back and take it all in, this probably isn’t the best program for you. This Bootcamp is going to demand your participation. It’s for folks ready to roll up their sleeves and dig in. There will be lots of discussions, lots of back-and-forth with questions and answers. We’re thinking about this as a partnership.
It’s going to be something special for everyone involved, and I include myself in that. Moderating this event is going to be a milestone for me. This will be the most finely focused and result-oriented event we’ve ever done, and I think…everyone at International Living thinks…the results for attendees will be pretty amazing.
It’s going to be a lot of work for everyone involved, including you if you attend. But we think it’s going to be work that pays off big time if you’re seriously interested in crafting your own personalized, actionable plan to live, work, or retire abroad in a place that’s right for you.
After all, that’s what bootcamps are all about.
