For the last 15 years I’ve used my laptop to earn a small fortune from books and e-books.
They’ve provided the income to send me to some of the most incredible destinations in the world…like the gorgeous Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria in Sorrento, Italy.
Built on the spot that Roman Emperor August had his villa, it’s perched atop a breathtaking Mediterranean cliff with beautiful gardens and a tree that grows both lemons and oranges.
My e-book money was just as good there as that of Pavarotti (who kept a suite there), Sophia Loren, Lionel Ritchie, and the various British and European royals who have also enjoyed the palatial setting overlooking the beautiful Bay of Naples with Mountt Vesuvius in the background.
Early on in this business, I learned two important principles: Firstly, that it’s more profitable to publish than it is to write.
And secondly, that it’s faster (and easier) to publish public domain material than just about anything else.
Public domain books are works that are no longer subject to copyright. The copyright has expired, either because of age or because it wasn’t renewed, and that means it is available to everyone to use that work. It’s in the public domain, so it is “available to the public.”
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and Tolstoy’s War and Peace are a few examples of books that are in the public domain. There are millions more. And they’re not just well known novels. There are books on science, business, medicine, biographies, “how-to” and on and on.
The public domain books I’ve chosen are all in the self-help/personal development genre because that’s what my core business is focused on. Using the original 1937 edition of Think and Grow Rich—the number one selling self-help book of all time—has earned me more than $145,000.
And since it’s in the public domain, I’ve never had to pay a penny in royalties to anyone. All told, I’ve earned seven figures in the last 15 years using various public domain works.
There are many ways to “recycle” a public domain book into a monthly cash income. One enterprising laptop publisher took chapters from different public domain books and combined them to make one “new” and unique book.
Using public domain works are a quick way to create income. There are rules when selling on Amazon that you’ll need to follow. And I recommend you spend some time learning about copyright (you’ll find lots of free and easy-to-understand resources on the web).
But if you’ve wanted to cash in on the booming book and e-book business—but you don’t want to have to write it yourself—you can find your treasure in one or more public domain books.
The truth is, there’s really no reason why e-books can’t fund your life overseas. There are simply so many ways you can create income from them. To see some examples, watch this special presentation I’ve prepared for you…
