Travel in Mexico City: The Zócalo and Cathedral

In downtown Mexico City you’ll find a vast open space…the famous Zócalo.

Covering 14 acres, it is one of the largest town squares or plazas in the world. It’s the heart of the city’s colonial district, surrounded by historic buildings and pedestrian avenues full of restaurants and shops, as well as government buildings and a cathedral.
