It’s the most laid-back and least-developed region of Costa Rica. On the Caribbean coast you’ll find no big resorts or hotels, no condo towers on the beach, no big towns. It’s a low-key place where nobody is in a rush and there’s always time to chat with a friend you run into.
The area is known for its natural beauty as well. It’s a dramatic coastline of beach and jungle. Wildlife, including toucans, sloths, and howler monkeys, is all around you.
