In 2016, IL Bali Correspondent Josephine Brierley and her husband, Rob, quit their jobs, sold the house, the cars, and most of their belongings and left their home on the Gold Coast in Australia. Bali had been a long-time travel destination, and retiring on the island was always a dream.

Busy careers and a stressful life are now a thing of the past, and they now enjoy a much simpler lifestyle. They run a beach side restaurant in Sanur and have embraced the Balinese culture, with countless ceremonies, fragrant offerings, delicious food, and so many temples to discover.

Josephine now has time to follow her passion, writing contemporary romance, with three novels published and another two underway. As International Living’s Bali correspondent, she’s looking forward to sharing her other passion, Bali and all it has to offer.
