Use whitelisting to make sure you get your International Living Postcards and E-letters.
Unsolicited, unwanted advertising e-mail, commonly known as “spam,” has become a big problem. It’s reached such proportions that most e-mail services and Internet service providers (ISPs) have put some sort of blocking or filtering system in place or have begun relying on self-proclaimed blacklists to separate the good guys from the bad.
We at International Living applaud their intention to protect you from spam, but everyone agrees that the current systems for stopping spam are far from a perfect solution. They often block e-mail that you’ve requested. If you do not see an email from us in your Inbox, our email may have mistakenly been sent to your spam folder. Please open your spam folder and if you find an email from us, open it and mark it as “Not spam”…
As it happens, there’s something you can do to keep your International Living Postcards and E-letters from falling into the false-positive trap. You can fight the blacklists with a “whitelist.” Whitelist us now, before your delivery is interrupted.
Of course, every e-mail system is different. Below are instructions for some of the more popular ones. If yours isn’t here, please contact your ISP’s customer service representatives for instructions.
One vital thing you can do that helps no matter what e-mail system you’re using is this: Add the address in the “From” line of your most recent International Living Postcard or E-letter to your address book.
To find instructions for your e-mail provider or software, view the appropriate option below.

iPhone Mail identifies most junk mail (spam) sent to your @icloud.com address or aliases, but it can mistakenly move email to your Junk mail folder.
Periodically check the Junk folder for email messages that were marked as junk mistakenly.
To indicate that an email message from us isn’t junk:
¬ Open your Mail app and go to the Mailboxes screen
¬ Scroll down to the folders area
¬ Select the Junk folder.
¬ Find the email from us and slide it left to see options.
¬ Tap the More button.

Many other popular e-mail programs, don’t provide a convenient way for you to whitelist the folks you want to receive e-mail from. If you’re using this sort of e-mail system and you either aren’t getting your International Living Postcards and e-letters or want to make sure you continue to receive your International Living Postcards and e-letters in the future, you can do something about it.
Contact the customer service representatives or the postmaster at the company that provides your e-mail or Internet connection (your ISP). Explain to them that the International Living Postcards and e-letters are e-mail that you asked for and value. Ask them if they can whitelist International Living Postcards and e-letters. They’ll probably ask you for some information about us. Here’s what to tell them:
⎫ Sending Address: If they ask for our address, give them the address in the “From” line of your most recent International Living Postcard or e-Letter (e.g. email@example.com)
⎫ Domain: If they need to know the domain we’re mailing from, tell them: @internationalliving.com
⎫ IP Address: If they ask for our sending IP address, tell them:
